Log in to your OutboundEngine account at app.outboundengine.com
Click on the Reviews tab
At the top right, click "Request Review".A pop-up window will appear. In "Create Content", you can personalize the message or use the default type-up to request a review.
Now, work your way down the left-hand side. Click on "Select Review Sites" and choose the specific websites you want to request a review for. I suggest always unchecking OutboundEngine and checking the other options. All 4 and 5-star reviews will automatically display on your Profile Page.
On the left-hand side, click "Schedule" to schedule your review request. Ask for a review after business has been completed, and you’ve followed up with them and supported any post-sale issues. Some recommended times include Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday either first thing in the morning or just after lunch.
On the left-hand side, click "Choose Recipients" to select a specific person you wish to request a review from or request reviews from multiple people by selecting multiple contacts.
Once you have selected your mailing group, select "Preview" on the left-hand side. This will give you the customer-facing email that includes the link to your Review Site!
When you are done, click "Send"! OutboundEngine will send you an email when someone leaves you a review. All of your reviews can be found in the Reviews tab at the top of your OutboundEngine account.
You can view contacts you have previously requested a review from, by clicking on the funnel in the upper left-hand corner of the page. Clicking on that tab will reveal a drop-down titled "Any review request status." From there you can drill down to view contacts with Any review request status, Received a review request, and Not received a review request.
Great, your request has been sent, now here are some best practices to get the most out of Review Engine
Following up with a text message can provide an additional prompt and make it more convenient for your customers to leave a review. People often check their text messages more frequently than their emails, so this strategy can significantly increase your response rate. Here are some tips for effectively utilizing text messages for this purpose:
-
Keep it Casual: Your text message should be friendly and casual. Treat it like a conversation rather than a formal request.
-
Express Appreciation: Begin your text message by expressing appreciation for their business. This sets a positive tone and shows you value their feedback.
-
Be Brief and Direct: Keep your message short and to the point. Simply remind them about the review request and provide a link for them to click on.
-
Timing is Key: Just as with the email, timing matters. If the email was sent in the morning, consider following up with a text message in the afternoon or early evening.
-
Send a One-Time Follow-Up: To avoid appearing too pushy or intrusive, limit yourself to a single follow-up text message. If they don't respond, they likely aren't interested or don't have time.
-
Respect Their Space: If a customer asks not to be contacted via text message, make sure to respect their preferences and adjust your communication strategy accordingly.
*Remember, the goal of requesting reviews is to gain honest feedback about your business. These best practices should guide you in the process and help you improve your response rate without compromising the integrity of the reviews you receive.*
